Belgrade, September 17-20, 2026. Celebrating the art of the piccolo.

Mission & History

About the Belgrade Piccolo Weekend

Founded in 2021, the Belgrade Piccolo Weekend (BPW) is a prestigious international festival dedicated exclusively to the piccolo flute. Based in the Belgrade Philharmonic Hall, BPW serves as a vital meeting point for world-renowned soloists, professors, and aspiring young artists.

Our mission is twofold: to provide top-tier education through intensive masterclasses and to promote the instrument's rich solo repertoire. A special focus of the festival is on commissioning and premiering new works by Serbian and Balkan composers, expanding the global piccolo literature.

Through its unique "Piccolo Studio" workshops and international competition, the festival continues to inspire a new generation of flutists to explore the expressive power of the smallest member of the flute family.

Support the Festival

BPW is a big story about one of the smallest instruments. Despite its size, this small instrument brings a lot of joy to both performers and audience. Like most pioneering ventures, the piccolo story of ours didn't have adequate financial support from the beginning, but was created and survived thanks to the love and enthusiasm of our team. But, as we all know, enthusiasm is not always enough...

We are infinitely grateful for your support!
